Homemade Basil Pesto

Growing up with Italian roots means you must know how to make your own homemade basil pesto. This recipe was passed on to me from a very special grandmother figure who basically taught my Mom everything she know when it comes to cooking, homesteading, gardening and of course, Italian cuisine. I promise you won’t be grabbing any more store bought pesto once you make this delicious sauce. Keep it as a spread, add it to any pasta dish, chicken dish, or sandwich!

Recipe:

4-6 cloves of garlic

2 Cups - Fresh Basil

1 Cup - Fresh Parsley

6 Tablespoons - Pine Nuts

1/2 Cup - Olive Oil

1/2 Cup - Parmesan Cheese

4 Tablespoons - Softened Butter

Fresh Pepper

Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until your pesto becomes a nice creamy consistency!
